Property routines

Confirm the rental rules you will need every week

Before the first problem, save the routine and emergency maintenance channels, learn written-notice requirements, and confirm parking, pet, package, trash, guest, and building-access rules from the lease and property manager.

Separate emergency and routine maintenance

Save the property manager's emergency definition and contact method. Use 911 for immediate danger and the confirmed utility outage channel for service interruptions outside the property.

  1. Save the emergency maintenance number.
  2. Bookmark the routine work-order system.
  3. Learn the required written-notice method.
  4. Keep copies of requests, photos, entry notices, and completed-work confirmations.

Prevent avoidable access and parking problems

Confirm how resident and guest vehicles are registered, where moving trucks may stop, and what credentials are needed for gates, elevators, package rooms, or amenities.

  1. Register vehicles and obtain permits before enforcement begins.
  2. Confirm guest, accessible, and towing rules.
  3. Test keys, remotes, fobs, and access codes.
  4. Report lost access devices promptly.

Confirm pets, trash, and recurring lease reminders

Complete required pet records and fees through the authorized process, learn waste and recycling locations, and calendar notice dates or renewal decisions that the lease makes important.

  1. Verify pet registration and vaccination-document requirements.
  2. Find trash, recycling, bulk-item, and moving-box procedures.
  3. Record filter or tenant-care duties stated in the lease.
  4. Calendar renewal, inspection, and move-out notice dates.
