Editorial and data policy

Accuracy includes saying what the available evidence cannot determine.

Last substantively reviewed: July 29, 2026

Official sources first

MoveIn prefers official provider, city, county, state, and federal sources. Search snippets, commercial directories, memory, and generated text are not accepted as final provider-territory evidence.

No false ZIP precision

A record can be labeled primary, possible, multiple providers possible, address confirmation required, coverage varies, or not verified. Internet results point to address-level tools unless reliable evidence supports a more specific statement.

Verification and stale data

Source retrieval dates, provider verification dates, database updates, and editorial review dates are separate. Automated reports flag records without sources or dates, records older than the review threshold, and broken or uncertain official links.

Corrections do not publish automatically

Correction submissions are stored separately from verified data. A reviewer checks the report against an official source before changing a public record. Review statuses are documented in the corrections workflow.

Commercial separation

MoveIn does not accept payment for provider inclusion or ranking. It has no affiliate links in the pilot. If commercial relationships are introduced later, they will be clearly labeled and will not replace source-based provider information.

Incomplete coverage

Unresolved categories remain in the research queue or appear with an honest limitation. Pages that do not provide enough sourced, actionable value remain noindex or unavailable. See how the data works or submit a correction.
